How to Measure a Ring Size at Home?

You don't need to worry about how to take the measurements for your ring as there are many techniques you can use to learn how to determine a ring size.

 

TECHNIQUE 1 – USE OF A FLOSS OR STRING

To take measurements with floss or string, you need:

  • Floss or string
  • Ruler
  • Marker or Pen

 

HOW TO TAKE MEASUREMENTS?

  • Cut one 6 inches-long string and fold that string around your finger's base just under the knuckle.
  • Make a mark with a pen where that string ends. Position the string on a ruler with area showed on the right.
  • Here, you can see that the number next to the mark is the ring's circumference, measured in millimeters.
  • Just use the ring size chart given here to convert your measurements into the ring size.

 

TECHNIQUE 2 – USE OF A PAPER STRIP

To take measurements of the ring size with a paper strip, you need:

  • Ruler
  • A strip of paper
  • Marker or pen

 

HOW TO TAKE MEASUREMENTS?

  • Cut a fine strip of paper which is around 100 millimeters long.
  • Fold that fine strip of paper around your finger near the knuckle.
  • Make a mark where two sides of this paper strip come together.
  • Use a ruler for measuring its length (in millimeters) to get the circumference.

TECHNIQUE 3 – USE OF A RING WHICH FITS YOU THE BEST

To take a measurement of the ring size using a ring which fits you the best, you need:

  • A ring which fits your finger on which you will wear your ring
  • Ruler

  • Measure the inner diameter of your ring.
